Clinical and Stress Management Services

An increased emotional strain is common for many people during times of job loss. The North Central Career Center supports you through this time by offering free clinical services.

A Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker is available to you for consultations on matters ranging from stress related problems to issues such as

• Depression,

• Substance abuse,

• Career confusion,

• Couple and family conflicts, and

• Other issues.

They also can provide you with information about accessing community resources such as

• Fuel assistance,

• Health insurance,

• Child care,

• Credit counseling,

• And more.

Confidentiality

This service is confidential and private and is not shared with past or future employers.  Exceptions to confidentiality are made only with your authorization, or the a rare instance involving danger to the self or others.

Eligibility

Clinical services are provided to you free as a North Central Career Center Member.  You must complete an initial assessment with an Employment Services Representative, and be referred by them for clinical services. Participation is voluntary and may be ended at any time.

Appointments

Consultations are by appointment only. You may arrange a consultation by speaking to an Employment Services Representative.

At the Sessions

You will work with the counselor to develop a set of goals centered on short term problem solving. You will also learn skills to strengthen your ability to cope with life’s problems and emotions.
